The National Museum
Formerly the Royal Palace, it was built between 1904 and 1909 by King Sisavangvong. Today, it houses the Royal Throne of the Lan Xang Kingdom and many ancient artifacts, regalia and religious treasures. |

Wat Xieng thong
The temple was constructed by King Say Setthathirath in 1559. It is considered the most beautiful monastery in Luang Prabang. The structure represents traditional Lao arts and design. Inside the compounds, there are ancient religious artifacts dating back between 16th and 20th centuries on display. |

Kouangsi Waterfall
The waterfall is located deep in the forest and secluded from human habitation. It is only accessible by boats. The site of the waterfall offers breathtaking views of the caves and overhanging cliffs above the swift flowing river. Cool limestone caves are located on the steep rock cliff rising vertically from the water. All harmoniously blend in to provide tranquility and relaxation to visitors. |

Tham Ting and Tham Theung
A serene 2 hour boat ride upstream from Luang Prabang leads to these 2 caves. The caves are full of Buddha images in various sizes, styles and ages. Aside from Buddha statues, Tham Ting also houses a hermit or Leusi statue. |

Phousi Hill
Located in the center of Luang Prabang, the hill offers spectacular view of the city and its surrounding lustrous green mountains. On top of the hill is That Chomsi. This monastery was built in 1804 during the reign of King Anurut and underwent an extensive restoration in 1994. In the past, as a tradition, the sound of drum could be heard every 3 hours coming from the hill. |

Ban Phnom
A cotton and silk weaving village of the Lu. Many unique and intricate handicrafts can be found at this village. The Lu people originally came from Xishuangbanna in the southern Chinese province of Yunnan. |

Wat Visoun
Built during the reign of King Visounarat between 1500 and 1520, it was home to the Prabang, a fine gold Buddha image, the religious symbol of the Kingdom for more than 200 years. In 1942, the temple was turned into a Museum of Religious Arts and today, continues to display large collections of Buddha images and various religious artifacts from the 14th century. |
